Open Standard Achitecture
End Devices
A LoraWAN end device can be a sensor, an actuator or even both. They are normally battery powered and low cost. The end device sends a small secure payload of sensor information using LoRa RF modulation to the gateway.
Gateways
A gateway receives encrypted messages from end devices and securely forwards them to the LoRaWAN network server it is securely connected to via backhaul. Each gateway can connect to thousands of end devices.
Backhaul
The gateways connect to the network server using backhaul connections such as Cellular (3G,4G,5G), WiFi, Ethernet, Fiber-Optic or Satellite. These can be solar powered and come in indoor and outdoor IP68 versions.
Network Server
The Network Server manages devices, gateways and applications for the entire LoRaWAN network. It is secured end to end with AES-128 encryption. It is cloud hosted with 99.9% SLA and up times.
Application Server
Application Servers process data messages from end devices and format payloads from bit and bytes to universal JSON format for API and external application use. These payloads are sent to a database for storage.
Integrations
The Application server forwards information via HTTP API, MQTT or gRPC to external integrations such as Grafana, PowerBI or IoT Platforms, as well as third party databases like InfluxDB. The integrations are secured using secure API keys.
App Platform
Our platform allows you to view all of your sensors in a single place and monitor conditions, trends, alerts in real time. Customizable dashboards are created to suit your needs and automated reporting and alerts are sent via email or SMS.
